Teaser points to autonomous concept which will showcase the styling of future electric versions

Nissan has teased its main concept for next week’s Tokyo show – a car which’s rumoured to preview the next generation of the electric Nissan Leaf.

The Japanese some sort of has issued just one, poorly-lit image, showing what appears to be a hatchback which features the firm’s latest corporate grille treatment in addition to gets a distinctive kink around its C-pillar.

The short press Discharge describes the automobile as “Nissan’s future vision of car intelligence in addition to electrification” – supporting speculation which the concept will highlight autonomous technology in addition to the latest generation of batteries in addition to electric motors.

Insiders also suggest the Tokyo car’s styling will point to the next generation of Leaf, which will be due by 2017. Nissan will be considering expanding the Leaf sub-brand to include further versions in addition to Centeng styles, according to the firm’s executive vice-president Trevor Mann – yet the core of the range will be still supposed to be a 5-door hatchback.
