Take Three: Toyota Announces Entune 3.0
Toyota announced the arrival of a fresh, third-generation Entune multimedia system at the 2017 CES in Las Vegas. Going by the name Entune 3.0, the unit offers quite a few fresh features over its second-generation counterpart.Playing catch-up to competitors such as General Motors, the latest generation of Entune will include a Wi-Fi hotspot courtesy of Verizon. Unlike GM, however, the option won’t be offered on all products. Vehicles equipped with the service will allow users to connect up to all 5 devices at a time. Additionally, Wi-Fi-equipped Entune 3.0 vehicles will receive real-time map updates.
Entune 3.0 also benefits through an increased mobile app of which includes common features in This specific space, such as remote start in addition to remote locking in addition to unlocking of the automobile. Less common will be the ability to set parameters for teen or guest drivers. Should the vehicle travel outside a set boundary area or exceed a specified speed limit, a notification will be sent to the owner’s phone.
Finally all Entune units will right now offer the system’s full app suite, including Pandora, Yelp, iHeartRadio, in addition to Slacker, among others (a feature of which previously was exclusive to the top-spec system).
