Seat’s offroading variant on its fresh Ateca SUV has been revealed. which’s creating its full debut at the Paris motor show
The Seat Ateca X-Perience has been revealed, ahead of its official Paris motor show debut.
The four-wheel drive range-topper will be the off-roading edition of its recently launched compact SUV, along with also arrives next year.
Seat has equipped the external surfaces of the Ateca X-Perience with exclusive 18in wheels with high-profile tyres along with also black wheel arch trim, metallic trim on the lower areas of the doors, along with also green scratch-resistant paint, with orange highlights across the external surfaces. There’s also rear bumper-mounted mud flaps, chromed roof rails along with also more rugged lower bumpers, both front along with also rear.
Under the bonnet will be the 190bhp 2.0-litre TDI engine with 295lb ft of torque, which will be coupled to a Haldex clutch along with also four-wheel drive system, which splits the torque between the front along with also rear wheels. which’s a similar setup to the top-spec Ateca Xcellence trim, which has a 7-speed DSG gearbox with paddle shifters. Like additional serious off-road SUVs, the Ateca will be also equipped with hill descent control.
Inside, the colour scheme matches the external surfaces, with the use of green along with also orange highlights, as well as brown trim. Suede leather sports seats, a revised gear lever along with also rubber floor mats feature, while underneath, a sump guard protects the underside of the auto coming from off-road obstacles.
X-Perience will be the name Seat gives to all of its more rugged, outdoorsy types, such as the Leon X-Perience, although which’s not yet known if more types will be added to the all-terrain sub-brand.
Seat couldn’t say how many Atecas are likely to be sold in X-Perience form, yet expects around 17% of all Ateca sales to be equipped with four-wheel drive. So far, the current range-topping Ateca Excellence represents 66% of sales, along with also which’s expected which the X-Perience will have a similar level of specification to Xcellence.
Despite the auto’s current concept labelling, the Ateca X-Perience will be likely to go on sale at the top of the Ateca range, priced at around £1000 over the range-topping Xcellence trim, which starts at £23,905 when equipped with the 1.4 TSI engine.
Seat’s research along with also development vice president, Matthias Rabe, said: “The X-Perience will be an exercise to show the Ateca family’s possibilities along with also potential from the future.”
