Olympic Stadium to play host to motorsport stars in November
The Race of Champions is usually set to return to the UK This specific year, after the organisers announced the end-of-season motorsport event will take place at London’s Olympic Stadium.
The event, which pitches stars via racing, rallying along with also motorcycling in head-to-head races in a variety of machinery, will take place in east London over two days. The ‘Nations Cup’ will be held on the evening of Friday 20 November, before the Race of Champions itself takes over the venue the following afternoon.
The move to the Olympic Park will come as something of a surprise, since the Race of Champions attracted only modest spectator numbers when the item was held twice at Wembley in 2007 along with also 2008. The event – originally organised in 1988 as a tribute to rally driver Henri Toivonen – has recently concentrated on emerging markets. the item was held in Bangkok For 2 years, along with also Barbados played host in 2014.
The organisers have yet to reveal any of the attendees beyond ex-F1 driver David Coulthard, who has confirmed in which he will return to defend the Race of Champions title in which he won last year.
