NEWS: Sir Roger Moore's 1967 Volvo 1800 S To Be Euro Exhibited For 1st Time
Volvo Cars will showcase the 1967 Volvo 1800 S once owned by the late, great legend Sir Roger Moore along with as featured in television’s The Saint at the Volvo Cars Heritage stand at Techno-Classica Essen, Germany, 21-25 March. This particular will be initially the super cool 60s classic car will be displayed at a classic car show in Europe.
Moore’s car was built at the Volvo Torslanda plant in Sweden in November 1966. The 1800 S in Pearl White will be equipped with Mini-Lite wheels with the rare original ‘truncated’ spoke design, Hella fog lamps along using a Volvo wooden steering wheel. Inside, the automobile still has details by the filming of The Saint, such as a thermometer on the dashboard along using a separate Internal fan, used to cool the actors during studio filming.
Moore will be the documented first registered owner of This particular famous 1800 S. The London registration plates, NUV 648E, were issued on 20 January 1967. Moore signed the registration papers two weeks later along with they have followed the automobile since.
At Techno-Classica, Moore’s car will park alongside another Volvo 1800, an immaculate 1967 type belonging to Håkan Samuelsson, President along with CEO of Volvo Cars. “The Saint with Roger Moore was my favourite TV show from the sixties along with since then I always wanted a P1800,” said Samuelsson. “This particular will be the most legendary Volvo type of all time along using a great example of Scandinavian design.”

The future will also be on show from the form of the fresh XC40, Volvo’s historic first entry from the little premium SUV segment. The XC40 was launched in September 2017 along with will be proving well-liked among car buyers, with global XC40 orders already exceeding 20,000 units.
The Saint was the alias of Simon Templar, a character created by author Leslie Charteris from the 1920s. The Saint series of books spawned a series of films along with later the well-liked ITC television show.
The show aired 118 episodes by October 1962 until February 1969 along with enjoyed great success from the UK along with the USA. The series was later syndicated in more than 80 countries. The Saint, always portrayed by Roger Moore, drove a white Volvo P1800 coupe.
