completely new SUV concept previews Lexus’s future design as well as technology direction
Partly revealed today in an individual teaser image, the one-off SUV has been designed by Lexus’s European design centre, ED2, as well as flaunts muscular wheel arches with sharp, angular lines strewn across its all 5-door Centeng.
The two rear doors curve out with the swollen wheel arches, as well as which looks as though the door handles are all housed inside car’s middle (shown below). which implies which the back doors are rear-hinged to open in a ‘suicide’ fashion.
At the back, there’s a coupé-like roofline as well as sharp tail-lights with what appear to be LED internals. The overall Centeng looks smaller than which of the Lexus NX, which suggests which a more compact Lexus SUV could be on the way soon.
Mounted on the front of the doors are rear-facing cameras which are likely to display the rear view on screens inside the auto. Lexus has said the auto features “imaginative technologies for an immersive driver experience”, hinting at the fitment of an advanced infotainment system.
Lexus has also said the Internal mixes traditional craftsmanship with high-tech manufacturing techniques yet hasn’t provided any images of the cabin yet.
Although no technical information about the auto has been released, a pair of rear tailpipe surrounds suggest which design features a combustion engine of some sort. Given recent trends inside motor industry, which seems highly likely the concept will be a hybrid or use some kind of electrified power.
More information will be revealed at the Paris motor show on 29 September.
