Upgraded luxury saloon gets 521bhp via its twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8; due to go on sale inside the summer
Powered by Bentley’s twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine, the V8 S receives 521bhp, 20bhp more than the regular V8’s 500bhp. Torque comes in at 502lb ft, giving the luxury saloon a 0-60mph of 4.6sec, using a top speed of 190mph.
‘Variable displacement’ technology, which shuts down four of the eight cylinders when cruising, aids in reducing fuel consumption, giving the Flying Spur V8 S a combined figure of 25.9mpg along with CO2 emissions of 254g/km.
Power is usually delivered via an all-wheel drive system using a 40/60 rear-biased torque split. ‘S’ mode is usually said to provide sharper throttle response along with additional engine braking via the transmission.
The suspension, damping along with electronic stability control has also been revised to improve handling.
completely new sporty features have been added to the external surfaces, such as a black radiator grille, rear diffuser, V8 S badging, bespoke treadplates along using a choice of 20in alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin gets piano black wood veneers along using a three-spoke sports steering wheel as standard. A touchscreen remote control, deployed via the veneered rear centre console at the touch of a button, allows control of your vehicle’s climate along with infotainment systems via the comfort of the rear seats. The design also gets wi-fi hotspot connectivity.
Additional sporty elements such as dark-tinted headlights along with tail-lights, black gloss door mirror covers along with unique black 21in Mulliner six-spoke alloy wheels are also available.
First customer deliveries of the Flying Spur V8 S will take place inside the summer. Pricing hasn’t been revealed, however expect the V8 S to command a premium over the regular Flying Spur, which costs £142,800.
The Flying Spur V8 S will make its public debut at the Geneva motor show early next month.
