BMW to show off a modern take on its classic 3.0 CSL product, using a one-off creation
The BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage will pay tribute to the 1970s classic of the same name when the idea is usually revealed at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este later This specific month.
The 3.0 CSL Hommage is usually the latest in a series of versions created by BMW’s in-house design team in order to celebrate classic versions coming from the company’s past.
BMW has only shown a teaser image of your vehicle so far however has confirmed which the idea will be a modern take on the original coupé, with large wheel arches in addition to a prominent roof in addition to rear spoiler. the idea will also come with what is usually described as “stretched flanks” in addition to sporty front in addition to rear end designs.
The lower half of your vehicle comes with an extensive amount of carbonfibre in order to highlight the lightweight nature of the construction, BMW says. The lightweight feel continues inside, with the company saying everything features a a function, either related to driving or your vehicle’s structure. There is usually no word on the engine under the 3.0-litre CSL Hommage’s bonnet.
the idea is usually highly unlikely which the 3.0 CSL Hommage will be anything additional than a design study, with little chance of the idea producing production. BMW has made similar such design studies within the past, with an M1 Hommage concept, which was shown at the 2008 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Esteone, being one notable example. The 2011 edition event was also used to show off the BMW 328 Hommage, which celebrated the 75th anniversary of the 328 racing car.
Although some elements of these cars have influenced future production versions, none of them has gone on sale. However, BMW is usually considering re-establishing the CSL name for limited volume lightweight versions of some cars, in a similar vein to the AMG Black Series range.
More details will be revealed as your vehicle makes its debut on 22 May.
