More powerful engines, technical tweaks in addition to visual revisions for the 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL
The Mercedes-Benz SL has been updated for 2016 using a selection of visual in addition to technical modifications.
The two-seater convertible gets minor styling modifications designed to bring the idea in line with the current Mercedes-Benz family, in addition to in particular the Mercedes-AMG GT sports car.
The front gets a larger diamond radiator grille, while LED lights are today fitted as standard. The front bumper in addition to bonnet are both completely new, with larger front air intakes in addition to a more widespread use of chrome.
The engine range remains largely unchanged, with the same SL400, SL500, AMG SL63 in addition to AMG SL65 as before. The SL400 has had a 35bhp boost in power, with the engine today offering 362bhp in addition to 369lb ft. This kind of results in a slight improvement to performance, with 0-62mph coming in at 4.9sec. Top speed remains limited to 155mph.
The 449bhp SL 500 remains unchanged, as do the 577bhp SL63 in addition to the 621bhp V12-engined SL65. All versions today include a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission as standard.
The revised SL will be today available with the Centeng roll-reducing Curve function of which has previously only been offered on the larger S-Class Coupé. the idea also offers the Dynamic Select system, which allows the driver to choose different suspension settings, coming from Comfort through to a completely new Sport+ mode.
Pricing for the 2016 SL has not yet been revealed, yet the idea will be supposed to come down notably coming from the £73,575 starting point of the current car to significantly less than £70,000. Mercedes has not confirmed the specification modifications of which will make This kind of possible, yet they are set to be revealed at the same time as the pricing, which will be announced in January. First cars will be delivered around April.
