Autocar has had the chance to drive Ford’s fresh hot hatchback: the full verdict will be arriving This specific afternoon
Autocar’s verdict on the fresh Ford Focus RS will arrive at 4pm This specific afternoon.
The fresh hot hatchback, which has been the subject of much media attention since its unveiling early last year, is usually powered by a 2.3-litre Ecoboost petrol engine producing 345bhp as well as 324lb ft of torque.
Ford says the all-wheel drive hatchback can reach 62mph via a standing start in 4.7sec, before accelerating on to a top speed of 165mph. Despite its output, the Focus RS is usually claimed to be capable of returning an average of 36.7mpg, while emitting 175g/km of CO2.
We’ve already been impressed with the Focus RS, having published our passenger ride verdict in October of last year. Matt Saunders said his lasting impression of the auto was of “a remarkable handling as well as involving hot hatchback – one of Ford’s greatest yet.”
